Electronic Flow Control Valve

These valves are designed to modify the fluid flow rate or the pressure in a system. They can fit in any compact place. These valves are capable of optimizing the performance of your pneumatic, hydraulic systems, and other equipment. The main purpose of a proportional flow control valve is to control the flow rate in a specific system. They maintain a constant pre-set flow rate to operate the machine or equipment precisely. Controlling the flow rate of a fluid in a system enables you to control many other parameters that are associated with it. For instance, The steam pressure in a closed container is directly proportional to the temperature.

What is an Electronic Flow Control Valve?

These valves are also known as the flow speed control valves. The main purpose of these valves in pneumatic systems is to control the flow and regulate the pressure while in hydraulic systems, they control the volume of the fluid passing through the pipes or any system.

Generally,  the speed of the actuator is used in the hydraulic circuits to perform different tasks and you can control it with the help of an electronic flow control valve. It provides you control over the volume passing through the pipes that you can increase or decrease to manage the speed of the actuator as per your need and the requirement of the system.

Working Principle:

A most vital element of process industries is a digital flow control valve. With its help of it, you can control the flow of different mediums in systems such as steam, gas, water, or chemicals. With the assistance of an electronic pneumatic flow control valve you to manage the load disturbance and form a constant state in the regulated flow rate as close to the desired set point effortlessly.

These valves are the most important part of the pneumatic or hydraulic systems and sometimes the most neglected ones. The reason is the unfamiliarity with several terminologies such as piping, vessels, and fluid mechanics. The absence of an electronic flow control valve can become the cause of a dangerous incident.

A proportional flow valve installed in a hydraulic or pneumatic system contains a sensor, a transmitter, and the control to accurately control the flow rate in the system. The controller compares the values of the flow rate flowing in the pipes and the desired value set by the user. After that, a corrective signal is sent to the final control element by the controller. This signal defines what action has to be performed to reach near the set value of the flow rate and pressure in the systems. The sensors are the eyes, the controller is the brain and the final control element is the hands. These three elements work collaboratively to reduce the flow rate and maintain a constant state.

Final Words:

Flow control valves are found in many objects around us. Electronic flow control valves deliver a cost-effective solution for controlling the flow rate in manufacturing and process industries. By using an electronic flow valve, you can not only ensure the safe and precise control of the flow rate but also provide you with a safe working environment.
